Ireland cap Shane Duffy believes his move from Everton to Blackburn can give his career a boost.
The former Northern Ireland youth international came through Everton's academy but had spent most of his senior career out on loan.
But today he ended his Toffees career to make the move down to the Championship with Blackburn.
The defender, who is in the provisional Ireland squad for an upcoming qualifier and friendy, believes it is the right decision going forward.
"I sat down with family and my agent. I'm 22 now and I think it's a big thing for anyone at this age. I went on loan last year and I benefited from it and I didn't want to just sit at Everton and wait about for injuries and stuff like that. It's a decision that I've made and hopefully it'll be a good one."
