Sinn Fein says the British government need to provide additional financial support to deal with outstanding political issues.

Yesterday the North's first and deputy first ministers took part in a conference call with the British Prime Minister, David Cameron.

In a statement, Martin McGuinness of Sinn Féin revealed that he informed Mr Cameron that the two governments must become "fully engaged if a comprehensive agreement is to be achieved in the all-party talks".

Mr McGuinness added that "any agreement reached has to protect the most vulnerable in society, invest in building peace and reconciliation."

The DUP leader Peter Robinson said that he is looking forward to continuing the discussions tomorrow.

"We discussed the current talks and in particular the financial issues contained in the paper given to the prime minister. I welcome the fact the prime minister is engaged in these financial issues this weekend and look forward to further discussions on Monday," Mr Robinson added.
