The Irish Blue Cross will host its largest 'Bark in the Park' sponsored dog walk yet this weekend, with nearly 200 people already signed up to the fundraising event.

Once the 3km walk has been completed, there will be a raffle, entertainment and music, while awards will be handed out on the day for dog with the best bark, shiniest coat, happiest smile and the waggiest tail.

That's right. The waggiest tail.

Participants are asked to arrive at the park's Castleknock entrance before 2.30pm and can make a donation of their choice to take part, or register in advance on the Bark in the Park website to receive a sponsorship card.

The family event aims to raise desperately needed funds for the animal charity organisation, to help the running and development of their animal services. In 2013, the Bark in the Park sponsored dog walks raised more than €16,000, which helped the charity's veterinary teams provide 26,473 treatments, surgeries, vaccinations and other procedures through their mobile and Inchicore clinics.

But enough of our talk. Here's what we know you really came here for... pictures of DOGGIES!
