The Finance Minister Michael Noonan has said he does not expect "dramatic" changes in the Cabinet re-shuffle.

Speaking before the Eurogroup meeting in Brussels he added that there is scope for change given that there are a number of vacancies emerging.

His comments come as Enda Kenny and Joan Burton discuss the renewal of the coalition and a shake-up of Ministers.

Minister Noonan added that he expects the re-shuffle will happen this Wednesday.

The Health Minister said earlier he will respect any changes the Taoiseach lays out for him in the re-shuffle.

"Everybody knows that my passion is health - but equally I've always made it very clear that the Taoiseach has to place people wherever he feels they'll best serve, and I respect that" he said.

Meanwhile the Jobs Minister has warned that the fall in unemployment could be put at risk if the jobs policy here is changed. Richard Bruton says the policy aimed at getting 100,000 people back to work by 2016 is working and it may be dangerous to change it now.

Labour is thought to be anxious to take over the jobs portfolio as part of the forthcoming Cabinet re-shuffle.

But the Fine Gael Minister currently in the job says stability is crucial.

"What I have learnt over three years is that by developing the Action Plan for jobs, by having it involve the whole of our government departments, by striking an even-handed balance between competing pressure that I think we've got the balance right now - and I think we've something that we can build on" he said.

"So clearly I have an ambition to go on building; but clearly that's not a decision ultimately that I take" he added.

Speaking on her way into Government Buildings this morning, Tánaiste Joan Burton was tight-lipped.

While the Taoiseach Enda Kenny was refusing to be drawn on the increasing speculation about a major re-shuffle, with both parties reportedly wanting to change many portfolios.
