The Taoiseach says he wants to act on the findings of the expert group on abortion as soon as possible.

Enda Kenny says the report from the group will be published immediately after it is brought to Cabinet this morning.

The government will today publish the report which was set-up to decide how the coalition should deal with the 'X case' and 'ABC' case.

It will recommend the coalition legislates and backs that up with regulation and guidelines.

The Cabinet will discuss the now widely leaked document this morning however the Health Minister, Taoiseach and Tánaiste have already looked at it in detail.

One of the recommendations says the coalition should legislate to provide clarity on a woman's right to a termination when her life is at risk.

Meanwhile the United Left Alliance TD Clare Daly will move her revamped abortion bill in the Dáil tonight.

'X case ruling'

Allowing of such limited abortions would be consistent with the Supreme Court 'X case' ruling and the European Court of Human Rights 'ABC' judgement.

The document will be officially published later today and a fairly open-ended Dáil debate will be scheduled.

Last night the Taoiseach said he wanted this to be a "sensitive, comprehensive, pragmatic and understanding discussion".

Tonight the ULA TD Clare Daly also reintroduces her abortion legislation to the Dáil on private members.

The government will have to vote it down tomorrow night even though she has made all the corrections to it suggested by the Health Minister when she brought it before the Dáil last April.

Speaking on his way into Government Buildings Mr. Kenny said there is no division in government on the issue and he wants to get the maximum consensus given the strong views on both sides of the argument.

But he says everyone recognises the requirement for legal certainty and reassurance for women.
