A teenager has died in a crash between a tractor and a quad bike in Co Limerick.

The driver of the quad bike (17) was killed in the accident on the R507 Oola to Doon Road.

It happened approximately three miles from Oola at around 1:45pm this afternoon.

He was seriously injured in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to the Mid Western Hospital in Limerick.

The tractor driver was uninjured in the collision.

The road has been closed for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
