Irish satirical website, Waterford Whispers, have fooled another news outlet after its story on John Waters was picked up by Ugandan magazine, The Independent.

Waterford Whispers published a fictional story saying that the Sunday Independent columnist would be relocating to Uganda after a 'yes' vote was carried through from Friday's marriage equality referendum.

"Irish columnist John Waters announced today that he is relocating to Uganda and will cease his Irish journalistic career indefinitely," the Waterford Whispers story reads.

The website said that he would move somewhere that his work would be more appreciated.

"I’m going somewhere where my work will not be judged," he barked as he handed in his luggage for a three thirty flight to Africa. "Relocating to Uganda is my best option right now and I have already secured a writing gig for a Ugandan state newspaper."

The blog post on the Ugandan Independent.

Ugandan news magazine, The Independent, picked up the story as fact and said that Waters would join one of the country's papers.

"John Waters will be attached to one of the Ugandan Newspapers in a capacity that is yet to be announced," says a post on The Ugandan Independent's website.

Waterford Whispers' fooling of the Ugandan Independent comes after it duped a German magazine into thinking that a stampede had occurred at an Aldi earlier in the month.
