The Irish unemployment rate has fallen yet again. The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show 4,700 people came off the Live Register last month.
The fall brings the rate of unemployment down to 11.1% - a fall of 1.5% in the last 12 months.
It is the biggest drop in the numbers on the Live Register in two years, reducing the seasonally adjusted total on the register to 374,800.
The Live Register showed a monthly decrease of 3,400 men and 1,300 women last month.
The number of male claimants fell by 29,227 in the year to September, while female claimants dropped by 9,393.
While the number of people in long term unemployment in September was 178,388 - representing a decrease of 12,031 men and 10,493 women in the year to September.
In unadjusted terms, there were 370,050 people signing on last month, representing an annual decrease of 38,620 - or 9.5%.
