It has been revealed that the viral video sensation in which three students are seen playing music and busking in order to raise money for a homeless man, is not all as it may seem. 

"We could not believe how much of you have analyzed this video in the last view days. There was a lot of praise, but also a lot of critical voices making a particular sore point," said the updated description on the YouTube page.

The three students received heavy criticism and accusations of the video being fake before they eventually revealed that the homeless man in the video was in fact an actor. 

The students updated their YouTube description to announce and explain their decision behind hiring an actor and insist that their work and their intentions are good.

“In May of this year, we performed like this with more songs and WITHOUT a camera. We liked the message of what we were doing so we decided to turn it into a video in order to encourage others to possibly do the same.

“Before filming we asked ourselves the following question: Can we simply film a person in distress and put it up on the internet, without asking them or knowing their history? Our answer is quite clearly no, which is why we have hired an actor to take on this role.”

The three students also apologised and insist they are genuine charity organisation.

"If we have hurt or disappointed anyone, we are very sorry. Of course that was not our intention."

The video which has been viewed over nine million times now, sees the three young students sit down beside the 'homeless man' and busk to raise money for him.
