The people in Dunmore, Co Waterford have been placed on 'high seagull alert' following trouble caused by a seagull locals call 'Jonathan'.

Jonathan the seagull has allegedly been seen swooping, dive-bombing and causing general mischief along the Dunmore Road.

According to a report by Waterford radio station WLRFM, the seagull has been manic and causing mischief for pedestrians all day, like this tweeter below:

There was a seagull on the barrier into to the car park this morning. He seemed pretty chill but I'm going to be careful leaving work later.

The report reads, "WATERFORD ON SEAGULL ALERT. Waterford has been put on 'high seagull alert' following numerous reports of swooping and dive-bombing by a lone seagull, known locally as 'Jonathan' who presides along the Dunmore Road, from a lampost at the hospital roundabout to Collins Avenue.

"Jonathan has swopped down at joggers and some reports say he appears to 'laugh' afterwards. It is advised that you don't eat any food, such as ice-cream or a sandwich, while walking in this area. Please be seagull aware and stay tuned to WLRfm for updates."
