Lionel Messi definitely did not flop during the World Cup as he played a part in helping Argentina to a first final in 24 years.

And while the Barcelona man was clearly not consoled by being awarded the Golden Ball last night, his countryman Diego Maradona does not think Messi should have been named Player of the Tournament.
