An elderly woman has been killed in a crash in County Donegal.

She was the driver of a car which hit a ditch at Cloghore in Ballyshannon at 10:20 last night.

The woman, who was in her early 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to Sligo General Hospital. No one else was injured.

The road has been closed to allow for a forensic examination, and diversions are in place.
