Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has announced his retirement from international football.
The ex-Liverpool man was a member of the Spain squads which won the World Cup in 2010 and Euro Championships in 2008 and 2012. Alonso also played at the 2006 World Cup where he scored in Spain's opening match against Ukraine.
The 32-year-old won 114 caps, scoring 16 goals for La Furia Roja after making his debut against Ecuador in 2003.
