• By participating in a competition on Newstalk 106-108 fm, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (which may be amended or varied at any time by Newstalk 106-108 fm) and by our decisions, which are final in all matters relating to the competition.
• Newstalk 106-108 fm’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
• Where prizes involve the prize winner(s) travelling, the prize winner(s) (and guests if applicable) shall, unless otherwise indicated, be responsible for all their travel costs and shall be required to hold valid passports and/or other necessary travel documents and visas. Where prizes are fixed to a certain date, prize winner(s) (and guests if applicable) must be available to travel on the date specified by Newstalk 106-108 fm and no alternative dates will be available. Where prizes involve travel on a date selected by the prize winner(s), the date chosen is subject to availability and Newstalk 106-108 fm reserves the right to include a date by which the prize must be taken (within reason).
• Newstalk 106-108 fm accepts no responsibility for failure due to circumstances beyond our control, to fulfil a competition which involves a third party but has no specific cash value, e.g. meeting a sports personality. We will however, on all occasions strive to provide a substitute prize of equal desirability to the winner. Unfortunately, the company cannot accept responsibility if these attempts do not meet a prize winner(s) expectations.
• When, due to circumstances outside of our control, a prize is not available, Newstalk 106-108 fm reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal value.
• On occasion, Newstalk 106-108 fm may offer a cash alternative to a specific prize, but is under no obligation to do so.
• Newstalk 106-108 fm reserves the right to disqualify any contestant for any reason whatsoever in its sole discretion.
• At Newstalk 106-108 fm, we value each listener’s participation in our competitions and wish to be a fair as possible with prize distribution amongst as many listeners as possible and for this reason, there may be occasions on which we restrict particular listeners from winning successive major prizes on the station.
• Newstalk 106-108 fm will strive to provide all prizes within 28 days. When this is not possible, we will notify prize winner(s) as to any delay. In instances where prize winners must collect prizes from the station, all prizes must be collected within 28 days of winning. After this time, the prize will be deemed null and void.
• Prizes offered by Newstalk 106-108 fm are in most cases provided to the company by a third party or sponsor. In such cases and at the end of the competition, the liability passes from Newstalk 106-108 fm to the sponsor for the deliverance of the prize offered. If the sponsor or third party therefore cannot deliver the product or prize due to liquidation or similar, Newstalk106-108 fm is not responsible for its provision. Similarly, Newstalk 106-108 fm is not responsible for the supply or non-supply or purported supply or delay in supply of a product or prize.
• Use of a false name or address by a competition entrant will disqualify them from winning or receiving any prize. Newstalk106-108 fm reserves the right to oblige any potential prize winner(s) to provide documentary proof of their identity and address as directed by Newstalk 106-108 fm before such person may claim their prize.
• Competitions are not open to employees or contractors of Newstalk 106-108 fm, any person directly or indirectly involved in the running of the particular competition, or their direct family members.
• Some competitions may require entrants to take part in a programme in order to win the prize. Where this is required and where an entrant fails to take part as required or takes part but fails a subsequent test of skill which is required to win the prize, that contestant will be deemed to have forfeited their opportunity to win the prize and will be disqualified from the competition.
• Newstalk 106-108 fm will keep prize winner(s) personal details for a reasonable time in order that prizes can be sent to the prize winner(s); rules can be verified to have been complied with and for accounting purposes. Newstalk 106-108 fm may pass prize winner(s) details on to our third parties or sponsors for the purpose of delivering the prize.
• Call/text competitions – full competition details including services charges, cost of entry and competition open and close times will be broadcast on each individual show. If a competition is entered once it has closed, the entrant will not be included in the competition, however a service charge may apply. Texts cost €0.30.
