The Football Review Committee have unveiled their recommendations for the sport.

The proposals include the introduction of the mark system for catches of kick outs outside the 45, the replacement of any player who receives a yellow card - but not allowing any replacement after a third yellow card is given to any team.

They've also recommended that all adult club games go from 60 to 70 minutes in duration and that a public time clock be introduced for all provincial and All Ireland series games.

The report also recommends a recruitment drive of former inter county players for refereeing and clarification of the tackle.

The hand pass is something they say should be monitored closely but at present their is no need to limit the amount of hand passes in a row.

The report is the result of a widespread study undertaken by the GAA, in which they consulted with u[ to 4,000 people from all 32 counties and abroad. Over 3,000 people took part in an online survey about various aspects of the game.

Several specific areas proved to be areas which were strongly disliked by the respondents, with cycnical play- be it time wasting, cycnical fouls- being a point of contention for most, along with abuse of referees.

The positives included high catches, kicking skills and long range scores.
