Luis Suarez is the player that has been the most surprising this season according to John Giles.

The Ireland and Leeds United legend was at the Sugar Club with Off The Ball tonight along with Richard Dunne and Fergus McFadden and answering a question from the crowd, he revealed that Suarez was the player that had made him raise his eyebrows this season.

"Obviously one of the most impressive has been Suarez. I think he's a terrific player. I think he's surprised me by the fact that he is concentrating more on the game now, instead of getting involved in controversial incidents. I mean he hasn't bitten anybody yet for a start," said John.

He also spoke about his departure from Manchester United in 1963 and how it impacted on his relationship with Matt Busby.

"I didn't get on with Matt in the latter part of my career at Manchester United. Matt was one of the great managers. Manchester United wouldn't be where they are today if it hadn't been for him. Matt was a good Scot, because he didn't throw the money around," said John, explaining that Busby was relatively tight with the wages.

"I fell out with Matt. It goes back to 1962. We played in the semi-final of the Cup against the great Spurs team. I was playing in midfield and we were well beaten. I had a nightmare in the game. After that, Matt and the staff lost confidence in me, although I was only 21. In the summer of that year, they signed Denis Law and I was pushed out on the right wing for the following season. My situation with Matt was that I couldn't do right for doing wrong."

John also talked about the culmination of the title race, how much credit Roberto Martinez should get for Everton's recent rise and whether Arsene Wenger is "tactically inept".

He also chatted about David Moyes and Manchester United in the wake of the Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich.
