The situation across the West coast and in parts of Munster is becoming increasingly desperate. Many families who’ve experienced flooding before have struggled to get insurance and now find themselves facing a very uncertain Christmas and 2010.
The response from listeners across all of Newstalk’s programmes has been astonishing. Listening to people in crisis say they want help, Newstalk’s listeners have responded by saying they want to help.
Newstalk want to put these people together.
In the immediate short-term we’re appealing for donations but longer term we’re also appealing for volunteers to help in the rebuilding process. Anyone with expertise in engineering, electricians, plumbers, joiners, architects, indeed anyone willing to help in the rebuild – we’d like to hear from you.
We’ll help put the volunteers in touch with the relevant authorities on an ongoing basis. Email us on info@newstalk.ie or register with your details here – you may need to sign in to Newstalk Nation but it’ll only take a minute and will help us contact you more speedily.
In the meantime, you can donate cash.
