Vicar Street was packed last night for the Ulster Bank Off The Ball Roadshow and to the strains of deafening cheers and Hendrix classic 'Voodoo Child', an Irish legend stepped onto the stage with Ger Gilroy.
Speaking and joking as eloquently as he did on the pitch against Italy in '94, Paul McGrath looked back on his time at Manchester United and how he had to adapt after moving from St Patrick's Athletic.
Despite possessing a talented core of players, McGrath touched on why they could never match Liverpool in that period.
He also spoke about his friendship with former team-mate Norman Whiteside and explained why Big Ron Atkinson was the best manager he played under.
And of course he reminisced about the successful Ireland team of the late 80s and early 90s, particularly recalling the game against Italy when his performance went into Irish folklore.
The recent departure of Giovanni Trapattoni was also a talking point and McGrath explained why he is backing Martin O'Neill and also discussed his friendship with Roy Keane.
