Ger has been with Newstalk 106-108 fm since its creation in 2002. He was the station’s first Sports Editor, setting up the Sports department and hosting weekly night time show Off The Ball until August 2006 when the station became national. From 2006 he co-presented Breakfast until 2009.

Ger has also worked in television as a presenter for Setanta and RTE and has written about current affairs and sport for The Evening Herald. Ger is originally from Athy in County Kildare.
