Henry McKean joined Newstalk 106 – 108 fm in 2002 and has been reporting in his unique style for Moncrieff with Sean Moncrieff since 2004.
Henry has won 3 PPI radio awards for his reports – Short Feature 2006 for Henry of Orange, Short Feature 2007 for Don’t Be Mean Vote McKean and Short Feature 2009 for ‘Henry On A Mission. He has also been the subject of much critical acclaim and was named in the Irish Times People to Watch list 2009 where he was described as ’a versatile, funny and innately likeable broadcaster’.
Last year Henry presented The Truth about Travellers on TV3, a documentary about the lives of Travellers in Ireland today, which was watched by over 1 million people and is currently working on other progects with TV3.
Henry moved to Ireland in 1990 from Scotland and was educated in Blackrock College McKean studied for a Degree in Journalism in Griffith College Dublin. He lives in Dublin.
