Shane Coleman has joined Newstalk as the station’s new Political Editor in March 2011. Shane has extensive experience as a political journalist having previously held the role of Political Editor at the Sunday Tribune, and regularly appearing on television and radio as a valued political commentator over the past decade.  

Prior to joining Newstalk 106-108fm, Shane worked as a Business Editor and Deputy Editor at the Sunday Tribune for three years and as a business journalist for the Irish Independent for two years. All in all, Shane has been covering the political landscape for the last 12 years.  He is also the author of four best-selling books on Irish politics including, ‘Bertie Ahern and the Drumcondra Mafia’, ‘Scandal Nation - Key Events That Shook and Shaped Ireland’, and ‘Foot in Mouth – Famous Irish Political Gaffes’.
