Hi There, I've been working on a new spatial planning tool which could offer significant advantages in the organisation of emergency relief encampments in Haiti. SYSTEM FEATURES; - Capable of structuring relief encampments of any scale - Generates efficient administration and distribution networks at all stages of development - Fosters a network of social support for a population under extreme stress - Ensures the security of the population it serves - Can produce healthy, stable, and sustainable settlements where longer term accommodation is required by those displaced For further information please refer to Section 3.7 of the presentation document available at the following link; http://cid-f1b07cc49da4a688.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Fractal%20Matrix%20Planning%20System Or alternatively you can review our Facebook page at; http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fractal-Planning-Solutions-Ltd/109017094107?ref=share I would appreciate if you could pass this information on to those currently involved in the planning of emergency accomodation, as I feel it may be of real benefit. Regards, Padhraic Moneley M.D. Fractal Planning Solutions Ltd.

Ger Gilroy deserves a Radio Award for his reports from Haiti - he was absolutely brilliant and the passion and anger that he felt came through on his reports. Well done Ger on a magnificent job in very trying circumstances.

We need strong leadership and collaboration across all sectors of society to get through this very difficult time. I am more depressed by our unseemly bickering and lack of unity - we are like a dysfunctional family who can't get passed the wrongs of the past. We won't get a family counsellor, we'll get the IMF ic we don't pull back from this destructive behaviour. To the outside world, we must at least appear to hold our heads high especially now and more than ever show we believe in ourselves and our ability to get through this. I know this is obvious but we cannot survive and progress as individuals fighting among ourselves - we are a society, protect the weak and pull together for the good of all. Like I said, listening to sectional interests everyday is more depressing than having less money. Life is harder but it was harder before and we will get through this. I graduated in the early 80s and emigrated. I came back in the 90s. The last decade has been a bonus but it wasn't normality. So let's get real and help each other through this - like people are doing in the flooded areas. This is a time for national government and a strong national identity. Let's show loyalty to each other and this island. We need a plan, we need to know what it is, how much it will cost us and how long it will take. When I take on a project, these are minimum requirements and I need to communicate them to get buy-in. I expect this kind of basic professionalism and pragmatism from whatever government we have. I really want us to stop and think clearly about our next steps and please stop the recrimination!

To "Steve76" ...and other like-minded "sheep". For Gods sake, can you not see your opinions are all being influenced by people with vested interests. In Government, the unions, the media, the public sector and the private sector. Stand back and make your own mind up about the issues that will affect ALL of our children and grandchildren. Mine and yours, public, private and no sectors. We are all citizens of this country. We deserve better. We must demand better, together. I am a public servant, but not a sheep. Thank you for your time.
