Fine Gael have slit their own throat by keeping an unelectable man in charge of the party...In these times they should be gaining phenomenally at the polls but with Enda Kenny in charge who really will be surprised when they lose the next election (by the way I am one of those voters who would have voted Fine Gael if they had, say, Bruton in charge)

It's worth noting that "jaywalking" is statistically safer than crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing in the US - not just on total numbers killed, but on a per-crossing basis.

just back from a holiday in France where the English flag was, along with other world cup flags in evidence everywhere, so was the Union Flag, it is an international designer icon, it's on everything, t shirts,vests, bags, shoes and all manner of clothing. Until Ireland displays the same sort of ambivilance to to the flags of my country you will forever be the pea brains of the international community
