Fionn, Only heard a couple of minutes of the show there last night and I'm not sure which of the guests said that "the only thing James Brown did for the world was hair", whomever it was should be ashamed of himself. Tell him before commenting on a musician to actually listen to some of the music, his Brown knowledge seems to stem from the "living in america" video which he obviously only saw because it happened to be in Rock V, possibly his favourite film. Incredibly ignorant comments to be heard on so called Culture Shock.....it was certainly a shock to me. What scared me even more was that everyone else just sat there giggling like he'd said something funny... Browns stock has steadily increased outside the hip hop world in the few years since his unfortunate death and is now seen as possibly the most influential popular musician ever. Ask anybody who knows anything about Michael Jackson where he got most of his ideas for instance. May I suggest "Make it funky/The Big Payback" Lp as a starting point for your esteemed panalists... And you could begin to redeem yourself by devoting a small section in your show to the Godfather of Soul and his many godchilden at some future date. Regards Eamon Tipperary.
