The Mayor of Limerick says we need to introduce selective internment to deal with gangland crime

Mayor_Kiely2_Photo_30Mayor of Limerick Kevin Kiely told Lunchtime with Eamon Keane here on Newstalk that selective internment should be introduced to deal with gang crime, as current government measures weren’t working.

His comments came in the wake of the shooting of a bread delivery man – who was shot dead at a petrol station in Limerick city at half past six this morning. He’s been named locally as 35 year old Daniel Treacy, a father of two.

A 29-year-old man’s been arrested as part of the investigation.

Have a listen to Kevin Kiely speaking with Eamon Keane on the day of the shooting…
