The Right Hook is the Newstalk drivetime show presented by the outspoken controversial pundit and Corkman George Hook.
This flagship programme combines hard-hitting news and current affairs with strong comment and opinion presented in George’s inimitable style. The Right Hook unashamedly plays to George’s strong personality. He has lived a full and varied life and brings that experience to the show on a daily basis.
George is the People’s Presenter and through his strong probing style he continues to champion the causes of the man in the street and to challenge the decisions of those in authority, whether it’s transport, the health service or consumer affairs. George has strong opinions on them all.
The success of the Right Hook has been due, in no small measure, to the ability of George to connect with his audience and wear his heart on his sleeve.
On any given day George will exude passion, anger, laughter, upset and empathy, connecting the listener to subjects they want to engage with.

What a relief to hear this guy get contradicted. Hook lets him get away with so many outright lies, half-truths, and exaggerations. Lot The Fox News crowd are now harping on about Obama treating the 'underpants' bomber like a normal criminal rather than a Dr. Evil-type supervillain. Conveniently ignoring the fact that Richard Reid was treated the same way under the Bush administration, complete with trial in a federal court. As if there isn't enough home-grown right-wing cranks like Myers and Harris with free access to the airwaves.
