An Irish Voice

George recently spoke to Niall O’Dowd, well known to many for his contributions to radio programmes and newspapers  on life as an Irishman in New York. Niall was a qualified teacher who emigrated to the US in the 1970s and set up two newspapers and a magazine – eventually becoming one of the most influential Irish-Americans and playing a key role in the Northern Ireland peace process, particularly when it came to securing that famous visa for Gerry Adams.

Niall has just published his autobiography, An Irish Voice, which chronicles his experiences in the US.
