Ireland's best-known ballet dancer is attempting to break a world record in Dublin today.
Monica Loughman is gathering hundreds of dancers in the capital's Convention Centre who are eager to reach the biggest number of ballerinas 'on pointe' at the same time.
The attempt also marks the launch of Monica's new full-time ballet academy.
The current record stands at 250, which was set in New York last year.
Monica says all funds raised today will go to charity, and she is urging everyone to come along and help the attempt.
