About the show

This is a business show focusing on the running of Irish business and industry. It talks to the people behind Irish businesses, both big and small, to get their insights into both their own, and other industries. It also acts as a mentor to SME’s across items with regular panels addressing problems or issues that might affect them. It is currently sponsored by AIB.

Regular Features

Paper Review - The opening slot is a paper review. This lasts about 10 minutes and goes through the four main Sunday papers: The Irish Times, The Independent, The Sunday Business Post & The Irish Mail on Sunday.

Industry Review - This looks at a prominent industry in Ireland and invites a panel of three people involved in it to give us a further insight. Recent industries have been: Bookmakers, Cosmetic Surgeons, Online Deal Sites & Theatres. The panellists are always high profile and the topics are always relevant to the listeners, usually something that they would have an invested interest in. Because of this its very interactive.

The Executive Chair - CEO’s of well known companies talk to Bobby about their career, how they got to where they are, how their business is doing, what changes & challenges its facing & what the future holds for it. This slot is currently sponsored by Deloitte.

Business Person of the Month - In 2012 Newstalk and Down to Business launched a monthly initiative in association with Sage, Ireland’s leading business management software company, designed to support and promote Irish businesses and entrepreneurs. Businesses are selected each month based on unique achievements in their field, and from this list a shortlist and overall winner is picked. As well as being profiled on Down to Business, the winner will receive a specially commissioned Newbridge Silverware pen and €1,000 worth of Sage software and services.
