The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Naoise Ó Muirí, will launch Dublin’s biggest Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in O’Connell Street, on Sunday, 25th November at 6pm. marking the official start to Christmas in the city; it will be a fantastic free festive day out for all the family and is a day not to be missed

The Docklands Christmas festival 2012 will run from the 7th until the 23rd of December in the IFSC, from 12 noon to 8pm daily, Saturday and Sundays will open at 10:00am.

The terrible twosome (aka Banjo and Doolie) adopt a new guise as Mr. and Mrs.
Addams. Their son Henry, (Graham Dowling of The Voice) sets out to thwart the
evil plans of Cruella and her side-kicks - Vampira, Werewolf and Frankenstein with
help from a host of loveable characters and creatures. Santa will make a very
special appearance and who knows who could be helping him!

Cinderella - Cork

Friday 14th December – Saturday 21st December

The magic is provided by the lovely Fairy Queen, played by Roisin Crowley who has a difficult time protecting the sweet and hardworking Cinderella (Kelly Healy) from her very cruel stepsisters (Daisy – Stephanie Shine and Tulip – Georgina Healy) and also the nasty Baron – played by Pat Kelleher. Cinderella is fortunate to have a faithful friend in “Buttons”, played by Darragh Murphy who, when given the opportunity, doesn’t hesitate in playing a few tricks on the stepsisters. The handsome Prince Charming, having travelled from Pennsylvania to find his Princess is played by Ben Meany and is shown all the local “Hot Spots” by his personal assistant, Dandini – Darragh Ring.

Red is a young, feisty lady who lives in the town of Ballybrutal in Fairytale Land. Her days are spent with her best friend Billy and looking after her slightly mad Granny, Lola. Life is good, for the most part. Until one day Professor Nasty threatens to take Lola's cottage from her to implement her evil plan to take over the world! 

What will Red, Lola and Billy do to stop him? Will Red find her Prince Charming? Will Anto and Deco realise just how nasty their Aunt, the Professor is? And will the Big Bad Wolf's vegetarian cousin be the one to scare Lola out of her cottage?

Green Santa comes to Mullingar

Dec 2012 SANTA - Mullingar: Green Santa at Belvedere House, Mullingar, County Westmeath

Saturday 1st December—Sunday 23rd December

Children will visit Green Santa in his magical grotto after entering another world through the enchanted Narnia Wardrobe and will receive natural gifts. 

The Narnia Trail

The parkland on the Belvedere estate bears a remarkable resemblance to the imagined world of Narnia with its naturalistic style of hill and hollow which has been punctuated with 18th C melancholic follies built for Lord Belvedere Robert Rochfort. Lord Belvedere’s coat of arms has a rampant Lion in the centre and this lion adorns the terraces of the House and entry into the walled Garden and there are numerous Victorian lamp stands.

The estate has developed a Narnia Trail which weaves through the ancient whispering woodland and features different locations from the C.S. Lewis story “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe”.

  • Green Santa will be in Narnia at Belvedere House each weekend from Sunday 27th November, also 8th December. 
  • Booking is advised. Bookings now being taken on 044-9349060 10am-4.30pm daily.
  • 1 Child €12.00 Each Additional Child €10.00, under 3’s accompanying other children go free.
  • Ticket includes entry to House Gardens and Park where the outdoor Narnia Trail, Fairy Garden and Victorian Christmas in Belvedere House awaits. Adults accompanying children to Green Santa go free to House, Gardens and Park too.

Santa at Strokestown House

Santa Claus, Mrs Claus and the Elves are back in Strokestown House this Christmas. They enjoyed meeting so many families last year in Strokestown they just had to return. This year they are taking over the underground rooms of Strokestown House which have never been seen before!
