The video below was made by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland and Fáilte Ireland to celebrate St Patrick's Day.

They have compiled some amazing facts about Ireland that make it a great place to live. Here are just a few of them but you need to watch the video to get the full sense of pride and honour. 

  1. Ireland is listed number 10 in the top countries to grow up in.
  2. It's the birthplace of 24 Olympic medallists, 14 Oscar winners and 12 Nobel Laureates.
  3. Newgrange is older than the Pyramids and Stonehenge.
  4. Named as the best country in the world to do business.
  5. Listed in top 20 globally for the quality of our scientific research.
  6. Number 1 globally for adaptability of our workforce.
  7. We're still Europe's most charitable nation.
  8. In Haiti, thousands have clean drinking water thanks to Irish water filters.
  9. 8 of the 10 global information, communication and technology firms live here.
  10. Last year we welcomed 8 million visitors to Ireland.

The video is due to be played for audiences gathering at Irish Embassy events across the globe on March 17th.
