The first real signs of fan mutiny have become apparent at Manchester United this week.

Starting with the midweek derby defeat which saw David Moyes and Alex Ferguson abused by fans, a group of supporters will escalate the revolt this week when they fly a plane with an anti-Moyes banner over Old Trafford during the upcoming Aston Villa match.

John Giles joined us on the line tonight and believes the situation could get messy.

"If they had the plane flying over Old Trafford, a lot of people would have had 'Fergie Out' as well at one time. But it was a different case. Moyes is taking over the league champions so they obviously expect him to do a lot better than they're doing. It's bound to turn nasty."

Meanwhile, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have been in outstanding form this season and in fact have matched a long-term Liverpool record.

Not since the 1960s has a Liverpool strike partnership scored at least 20 league goals each in the course of a season.

The strike partnership which proved so prolific in the '60s was Ian St John and Roger Hunt who John played against back in the day.

"I played against them. We'd great battles against them and they were the first great Shankly team. Roger was a smashing player and Ian was a terrific player as well. I didn't think Ian had scored that many in a season although he was a terrific player," said John who also played against the duo during his Manchester United days.

"Sturridge and Suarez definitely are the best pair of strikers in the Premier League at the moment and that's Liverpool's great strength, that they're capable of scoring goals," said John who also spoke about the reason why the Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush partnership still stands out for him.

However he also shared his concerns about the Reds' leaky defence as they battle Manchester City and Chelsea for a coveted title.

But reminiscing about the 1972 English league title that was won by Derby County, John explained that "anything can happen" which means Liverpool are "definitely capable of winning it".

John believes Chelsea's miserly defence gives them a great chance but feels the lack of a Drogba-like striker could end up costing them.

John also tackled Paul Scholes' criticism of Arsenal's midfield structure and he agrees with the former Manchester United midfielder "up to a point". He believes Arsenal's midfield needs to be more structured, citing the fact that it's hard to know where the likes of Mesut Ozil play.
